Anyone using them that can comment on sizing? Narrow, wide, normal?

Iv found all Hanwag to fit narrow.. the Makra is not SUPER narrow like some of their other boots,,, but still consider them slightly narrower than most US boots

Update: I received my Makra Treks today. I’ve worn them around the house standing for a few hours and then a hike to the mailbox of just over a mile with a few steep climbs and decents.
I ordered them a half size larger than I typically order. Note-the US size is a half size larger , the Euro size seems to be what works for me (42). The fit seems very good so far. The insoles were rather thin so I put my Superfeet Guide insoles. I prefer those. Being a half size larger the width feels correct. These are much wider than my Salewas (My wife has those now as they were way too narrow for me). The width allows me to lace up as tight, to loose, as feels appropriate.
The Hanwags feel very good while walking. They roll forward very well. When wearing my Crispi Colorados I feel like I have to go up and over a hump under the forefoot. Other boots like my Crispi Guides or Salomon Quest feel pretty neutral.
Summary: I feel like I’ve found boots for Fall backcountry hunts. I’ll put in many miles in the next few weeks and report back.

Ordered in a 10.5 and 11. I’m a normal width foot 10.5 in US fit training shoe, crispi, schnees, etc. Have been an 11/44-44.5 in some Scarpa and Salewa.

I kept the 11/44 in this boot w/ oboz medium arch insole. Very comfortable to me out of the box so far. Feels snug but I would not call it a narrow boot for my foot.

Sounds like you have a similar experience with the fit.

I've been able to wear mine for many extended periods now and I am happy with them. The toe box is perhaps on the smaller side, though I wouldn't say it's small.

The shop at GoHunt said they fit true to size. By that, they "mean the size of Nike you'd buy off the shelf". Based on that I got a 12. I feel the toe box is a little narrow. I feel like I should've gotten a 12.5 and now that size is out of stock. Except for the toe box, the boot is very comfortable with no heel slip for me. I hope they get the 12.5 back in stock.

Yea man I ordered thru GoHunt and noticed their recommendation, I’d say they are not true to size. 1/2 size up for me is a fit. Hope they get the 12.5s back in for you. I’m very happy w the boot so far. First pair of hanwag for me, might not be the last.

Anyone still use them? I'm trying hard to pick between these and scarpa mescalitos. Do they expand at all in the toe box over time? The one thing holding me back is they're a touch low on top of the toes

I use these and have them 1/2 size larger. Personally for my foot I find the Hawags to have the most variability for foot volume with lacing. I like these much better than the Crispi boots I have tried. I have noted some definite stretch once you get some miles on them (especially elevation with a pack).

Thank you. I took mine for their first hike yesterday. Love the fit. I need a better heel lock lacing, my feet slip a tiny bit on downhills. But I had to get a 1/2 size up to accommodate toes.

Curious your thoughts now after a couple seasons? Did you size up a 1/2 from the “Nike” true to size or a 1/2 size up from your everyday shoes? TIA.
