On my picture, you can see the straps getting chewed up a little bit. Those plates are 35 yds from my back porch and I'm sure you can see they get used. I've had that setup exactly the same for 3-4 years now. Just recently had to replace the straps. I'd say the original straps took 2-3k 5.56, 2k 9mm, and countless 22lr before they needed replaced. New straps probably have 5-600 rounds of different flavors on them already.

Where I live round bailer belts are easy to come by. One belt will do many targets. I use carriage or plow bolts with really large washers. Posts that I use are T-posts with broken hay rake springs welded onto the top for the cross bar. I’ve also used t-posts with commercial and homemade chain holders. All will wear out but last many years and are cheap

The problem with T-post designs is that after a few hits, the T-posts get cut down and collapse.

What we've done for the last few years is buy semi truck mud flaps from the local truck stop. A 24x48 sheet is like $20. They last a long while, can take the shrapnel, easy to work with, and cheap as it gets

What are you cutting it with? My circular saw didnt like cutting horse mat or conveyor belt very much.

A utility knife works well. A reciprocating saw also works.

I used utility knife at first but to be honest my normal ol pocket knife worked better

We are using drop cuts of 2” firehose. Cutting to size with a razor blade knife and punching perfect holes with a leather punch set from Amazon.

Grade 8 bolts as large as the plate will allow. Target stands made of 1” metal pipe legs and 1” solid bar top. The legs don’t take much abuse but the top bar can and will get hit.

I used and old trailer tire tread strip on a couple. Pretty durable.

It seems like the electrical conduit gong options are overrated.

I picked one up and hit the set of legs that came with it with a compact track loader. I suck other stuff besides shooting!

I went to Lowe's to get new legs and conduit is $25 a stick now, and this thing flops around like a dead ungulate while trying to place it.

Yeah, that looks like a very unstable design. I make brackets out of electrical conduit (they each accept two legs and a crossbar) but use rebar for the legs and crossbar themselves.
