Was looking at picking one of these up but am unsure of the accuracy. Dudley's Nockon video of Rogans build read 82 lbs with only 4 lbs of holding weight. Even at 10 percent letoff that makes no sense. Are they a total waste of money?

Buy a good brand and test with a few weights. I got one from Lancaster Archery for a DIY draw board that works well.

Couldn’t you use it to pick up a known weight like a dumbbell or something to see if it’s right?

lancaster recommened the last chance handheld to me a while back. ive been very happy with it. mine has been very accurate and consistent. other scales i've had in the past were inconsistent and would give different readings back to back

on sale right now:

Buy one and proof it with some known weights, but do ck it at different weights. A scale is important to me when setting up my bow.

I have the HS2 and it has worked well except every now and then it will shut off for no reason. They have an upgraded model, HS3, and it looks really nice too. If I were buying new I would get the HS3.

Don't buy the turd from Cabela's. Checked my 70# bow and it said 62-63# with the limb bolts cranked all the way in. Went to the bow shop to see what was going on and it registered 69.5# on the shop scale. Sent the Cabela's scale back
