Picked up some H4895 to hopefully do some hunting with the 223 this year

I’ve seen load data all over the map, I’m assuming because it’s a mix of boot and AR. Sierra has by far the highest max (boot gun) at 24.5 grains with 80 match king and 25.5 grains with 69 match king. Have also read threads on here that show 21-25 grains

Without compressing the load, what are you guys loading grain wise when you load to tikka factory mag length?

Looks like crunching starts at 23 grains when seating to 2.270 for tikka mag length

23-23.5 gr for me with lapua, ADI, or LC brass (generally mid to higher capacity cases).

Thanks, I’m currently using star line. I settled on 22.5 to get consistent searing depth. Despite have 2 thou searing tension, I was getting larger swings of searing depth with 23 and 23.5 grains

Edit: this is with using an electric toothbrush to further settle the powder. Maybe starling has low case capacity?

From what I’ve read, starline is typically a bit smaller.

Went out and tried 22.5 (center target), this is 11 shots (1 was 21, 1 was 22 and 9 were 22.5). 16” barrel these came out to 2620 fps. 1800 fps out to around 500 yards, Form has said the 77 will expand down to 1400 fps ish so I’m going to run with 22.5
