Gunwerks Endex Rifle System

The plan is to have one of these in hand from Aaron and the Gunwerks team within the next month or so. It will come with their Revic Radikl scope mounted as well.

I’ll be posting an ongoing field review throughout the fall and winter.

Very few companies have been willing to put their equipment through an unbiased and heavy use public review. Gunwerks was happy to oblige.
Given your past comments on here about the inadequacies of any/all non-Tikka actions for western hunting applications, I’m note sure how “unbiased” we’ll get here (😂) but looking forward to it nonetheless!

Can you quote or point out what you believe he has stated that is factually incorrect?

No. I don’t have the interest, time, knowledge or experience to even attempt to do so. Nor did I even state that he was incorrect @Formidilosus. I’m simply implying that I find it a bit amusing (though perhaps admirable?) that Gunwerks is seeking what will surely be a well-trafficked review from someone who’s been so vocal on views which are adverse to Gunwerks interests here.

The gun will work or it won’t.

Just like any other gun someone asks me to use, or I ask to use; it will be shot along side proven guns that work and are shot nearly daily in the mountains.

The last 5 or so years I haven’t really had any patience to dick around much with guns that don’t work, and they certainly haven’t been used on many hunts.

My only “bias” is to gear that functions day in and day out.

Ok- so why state “unbiased” in parenthesis? Either what someone writes or states is factual, or it isn’t.
It wasn’t that long ago that @mxgsfmdpx and I had some pretty heated discussions/arguments about several subjects; however he showed himself to be quick to correct himself when he found he was in the wrong, and gracious when he was proven correct.

I do not know him well, but in the bit I have spoken and interacted with him in life, Gunwerks made a good choice. Either their rifle will be fantastic in his use and he willstate it, or it won’t and I expect he will state that as well.

Will there be a thread created to track the reviews progress?

Id like to see a comparison with the allteraa arms ansr-x. I want to like Alterra but it's hard to spend gunwerks money on them.

To me that butt stock that slips out maybe the worst approach to a backpack rifle so far. You cant tell me someone isnt going to drop that butt stock hiking in on a sheep hunt.

I have a ridgeline FFT in 280 AI that comes in sub 6lbs. It has a ATACR 4-16x42 on it - with rings, I am already closing in on 8lbs. Add a bipod, I am 8.5-9 depending on which one. 7.5lb starting weight gets me closer to 11 lbs - which is close to what my 6.5 prc weighs.

You are exactly right tho, you can always add weight to a rifle, but it is a lot more difficult to take it away.

This.

I am very happy to see Gunwerks departing from the REM 700 pattern. Knowing what I now know, I don’t ever see myself owning a 700-style action again. I need actions that will work if I get caught in the worst conditions. Yes, I understand there are conditions that no gun will work in. But a Tikka or a pre 64 M70 can handle a whole lot. We “need” more options that have the same durability. Really happy to see Gunwerks making a Tikka-esque trigger. Keep it up! I hope it performs well.
