Wow, the new Spartan Springbok bipod looks pretty awesome. I love my swagger bipod, but it’s just too heavy to be practical. This may make me regret buying the Gunwerks.

I called yesterday to check the status of my order. I ordered in early July and they said it should be shipping out in the second batch next week.

Anyone planning to use this kinda like a javelin? I don’t want to carry it on the rifle but it attaches so quickly that it’s practical to have it in a pouch or pocket and mount when needed. But I’m having a hard time finding a suitable carrying method. Any ideas? I’d like to attach to the molle webbing on my hip belt.

I got an email Friday saying all orders on or before August one would ship around 2nd week of October.

That’s too late for my Wyoming antelope hunt. I’m debating on cancelling my order.

I bought the Gunwerks bipod back in August. Nice piece of equipment mechanically and finish quality.

However, the “lug” in the mount is short/small and may not adapt to some picatinny rails that are skeletonized. My Gunwerks bipod lug does not engage the side recesses of the skeletonized rail that I use. If it were just even slightly longer then it would probably at least engage one side recess. It still works great otherwise because the bipod mount does a great job securing the dovetailed rail edges. It is an excellent bipod. I have fired 30-40 rounds at the range with the bipod mounted, it it stayed in place.

Edit: Not a criticism of Gunwerks design. No way for them to know of every possible adaptation or rail designs of other manufacturers.

Recieved my bipod today.
The right leg can't be tightened. The left leg locks down just fine...but screwing the right leg tight doesn't do the job. I can easily slide the tripod leg in/out.
Very frustrating quality control.
Will be calling them tomorrow.

I’m on bipod #2 and it’s going back. Bipod #1 the locking mechanism for the pic rail was defective and locked up on my rifle.

The second one does not effectively lock the leg splay in place. It opens up and falls after 2-3 shots on the bench.

Very disappointed in this product from Gunwerks. I’m going to return it for a refund and let them get the bugs worked out.

Hate to say, but I received mine on Monday and am also having issues with the pic attachment mechanism. I got it adjusted and thought it was awesome. Took it off the rifle and put it right back on and it wouldn’t lock up, like the locking pin was hitting something. I found if I loosen the clamp tension screw that it will fully rotate and lock up, but is super loose on the rifle. It is also etching a nice grove from the locking pin.

Still waiting for support to get back to me, and hopefully it is an easy fix as I head to Montana in a few weeks.

Mine was broken in the box. The piece that kept the leg splay in place was sheared off. I sent some pics to Gunwerks and returned it to Scheels. Bummer because I really loved the functionality and design.. hope they can iron out the QC issues

Called this morning and was transferred to CS. Left a message. Didn't hear anything so I called back at the end of the day today and again transferred to CS voicemail. Hopefully get a call back tomorrow. They're good guys, but I've got a feeling they've got some serious QC issues here judging by this thread...

I experienced the same- ended up switching out to an Atlas BT-17 rail. Works perfect now.
