I have a gun for sale and a buyer interested. It will have to be shipped to his FFl dealer. No problem. The problem is he does not want to send the money before I ship it and I won't ship it until I have the money. What is the best way to handle this transaction ?

Yeah, I'm coming to that conclusion. I'm going to my bank today to see about a wire transfer. Don't know if he'll go for that or not.

I’d walk. Reason being, he’s the type of guy who will notice something that you have overlooked and want to hold back money. Then you will say send the gun back, then he will pack it like crap, then it will get damaged, then you will have a broken gun, no money, and out shipping costs.

don’t waste your time, move on.

You could look into a firearms escrow service. It seems that there are a few out there, however I don't have experience with them.

Sounds like a scam or crazy person who is going to be a pain in the ass to deal with. No way you should ship something without money.

As a new member on a forum, I've sent items out to established members before getting paid. But no chance I'd send a firearm without payment.

Find a new buyer, as others have said this is going to become a pia for you with the current buyer.

OP you are free to do what you want but finding someone else may be the better option. When people act like this it can be a key indicator into what the future may be like. You may ship the rifle and then they find some tiny issue and throw a fit. Then it just becomes a pain in the ass.

I’ll echo the others, either a scammer or someone who is going to be more of a pain to work with than it is worth. I’ve bought and sold many firearms online and never has the gun moved before the payment.
