From my experience, the Ruffland Kennels will hold your weight, but they flex a fair bit in the process. It obviously doesn't affect the performance, but it will flex. My lucky Duck really doesn't flex when I stand or sit on it. I'd imagine a Dakota or Gunner would be more like the Lucky Duck that way.

It depends on really how you're looking to use it. The kennels we use in the house or garage to keep our dogs tend to be the reasonably priced, plastic shell one. When we travel we have a custom made wood kennel that is built on top of a drawer system in the back of a pickup truck. If you end up going the plastic kennel route and have them in an unheated garage - I really like muddy river kennel covers - you could look into those as well.

RuffLand Performance Large works great for our GSP. He’s 11months old and weighs about 60lbs. He’s got plenty of growing room

We run two Gunners and have zero complaints. Have a 5 gallon water tank and top rack
