I've got a Remington 700 in 300 WinMag that I would like to rechamber/rebarrel/restock...why? Because I have a Cooper in 300WinMag that shoots lights out. What caliber should I go with? I was originally thinking a 338 Win Mag, but the ballistics are fairly close to my 300WM. Would a 375HH be out of the question? I am wanting to build a rifle in hopes of harvesting bigger game one day (brown/grizzly, moose). I would like to stick to some mainstream-ish calibers for easy of ammo availability.

I understand the 375 HH is kind of one of those iconic cartridges but if I was looking to build a 375 on a LA Rem 700 I'd build a 375 RUM and it still has pretty good factory support when it comes to available ammo.

If I was looking for a 338 with good factory ammo support I'd go 33 Nosler. I actually like the 338 RUM better but easily available factory ammo and the 338 RUM aren't ever used in the same sentence.

Why not go with a smaller caliber, and shoot the grizzly/moose with the 300wm?
