Looking for some feedback from those that have used both and can provide some insight. Looking for real first hand experience and comparison. Thanks guys.

NICE: More weight. Greater lateral / torsional stiffness. Thicker padding in most areas. Extremely comfortable.

Guide Light: Less weight. Greater lateral / torsional flex. Less padding in most areas. Extremely comfortable.

I've owned both. The GL will do everything I want and I found it to have no deficiencies compared to my NICE frame. I believe the GL is a better 'carry' as a day/hunting pack. The NICE might have an edge when it comes to packing huge loads over long hauls. Both are extremely high quality setups. In a head-to-head I would choose the GL unit. If I had neither and someone offered me a deal on a NICE frame I would take it knowing I still have an extremely stout, hunter friendly setup.

My co worker guides big horn hunts in WY, we are both long time MR NICE frame users. He ordered a Marshall under the outfitter program and took it on a 9 day hunt last week. He said he liked the new frame but he couldn't get the load lifters as high as he could with the NICE and load lifter and is talking with MR about getting a load lifter rigged. He also said that part of the frame stays rubbed against him. I played with both for a while and preferred the stiffer NICE frame compared to the guide lite.. when I put both on I can't feel the weight difference at all as it's affinity your back and not hanging out like a load.
