Guess my buck’s age

Clean the skull plate and post a picture of the growth lines in the forehead. It's not super definitive but they're usually a good difference between 3 and 4 years old.

Here's two to show you the difference. Ones lab aged at 4.5 the other is lab aged at 9.5. I bet your buck is 3 or 4.

I've been lab aging everything for about 7 years now. It's fairly subtle but they definitely get tighter and more squiggly as they get older. There's quite a bit of variation even among the same age deer but it's definitely a trend.

That's awesome, I've been sending teeth in for a couple years now as well once I found out the dept will do it and attach the results to your profile. My oldest buck was tooth aged at 7 yrs, I was pretty proud for a WA general season public land buck.
