why run it 24/7? If you hang your food, no need to run it except at night.I have. Multiple times. Almost too many. Had one come to the tent one night right at timberline too. Not fun. At all. This year, my buddies and I spotted about 12 grizzlies over 7 days; some were likely double counted.
I also heard of problem bears in the valleys ripping tents and such. At least one was shot by the Game Wardens this year. Bear fence is not happening unless you want to pack an extra 7 lbs of batteries. If you run the fence, you need to run it 24/7 which requires lots of batteries in the freezing weather for 7+ days.
I've done a little hunting in one of the unlimiteds for other species. Saw a grizz about 400 yards from camp. Was glad we had the packable bear fence.
