Grippy Soled Cowboy Boots?

Anyone know of any cowboy boots that don’t have slippery soles? Yes, I know all of the rubber-soled cowboy boots are advertised as anti-slip, but survey says that was a lie. I’m hoping to find a pair (or retrofit a pair) with some proper winter rubber outsoles.

This would be for around town, not hiking. I don’t need deep lugs or anything, just a rubber that stays soft below freezing.

Prefer to buy a pair designed for this, but if I could find the right soles to buy, I could ask a cobbler to install them…

Anyone know of anything?

@BRTreedogs square toe, roper heel is my go to. I guess I meant “western” boots, but I always just called them cowboy boots. Ariat has lots of great options, but none that look sure footed on ice to me.

@Darryle thanks, it does look like there’s a few interesting pairs there. Some with lugs at least. I was hoping to find something with winter outsoles. I guess that doesn’t exist though.

@BobbyMac I’m pretty sure that’s what I’m going to have to do… I can’t find anything on the market designed for this, which is super surprising. I have a pair of Justin’s with the anti-slip outsoles on them, and when I come in from walking on snow or ice, there’s zero traction on the tile. I also have a pair of Oboz Bridger winter hiking boots with winter outsoles and I’m 100% sure footed in the same conditions. Just trying to get that sure footedness in a pull-on with better style.

I recently bought some Double H boots. The sole on them is pretty grippy in my opinion. Very comfortable once broken in.

These are the ones I have.

Any of the domestic line boots with the Oak ICE sole is going to be surprisingly slip resistant.

I have 4 or 5 pair of Double H and my favorite is the Graham just because of the domestic Bison hide. The second favorite for standing on concrete all day is the Wooten.

I wore Ariat boots for years, I had to have orthotic inserts in them because I couldn't walk in the morning. When the WuFlu hit, I proactively searched out American made products. I found Double H, Carolina and Chippewa. I haven't had to use an insert in any of the boots I purchased from Double H or Carolina. I bought a pair of Chippewa American made snake boots, they no longer make them.

^^^^ This. Your choice...but if ONE THING has to be made in the United States....it's Cowboy boots, followed by a Cowboy hat.

You'd be floored at how many arent. I'd take Mexico as an acceptable second. But Ariats and the like are Chinese. Justin Bent Rails are US, but the remainder are not.

Think US Double H are gonna get you as close as you're gonna get.
