If you are interested in trying some new rubs and want to support and veteran company try “frag out flavor.” No connections to the company, I was gifted some for Christmas and was really impressed.

I’ve had a BGE for 15 years now. Cook on it non stop.
I got a black iron pot I use on it for making chili, gumbo, biscuits, corn bread , white beans etc
I’ve cooked a lot of wild pigs on it bbq style. I also use hogs to make a rice and gravy too
My favorite way to utilize wild hogs is to make them into sausage and then smoke on the bge.

A few yard birds I’ve done. The four birds are Herberts stuffed deboned chickens I picked up in Louisiana.

Favorite way to smoke chicken is on the Pit Barrel Cooker. Their All-Purpose rub is legit!

I've been reading overthefirecooking.com, dudes got some great stuff. My first smoke was a bacon wrapped beer can chicken. It was the best chicken I've ever eaten. I usually torch chicken on the bbq, like it ends up charcoal lol

I used to be an all charcoal with wood chunks on my Weber Smokey Mountain Grill. All manual, was fine, but had to constantly adjust dampers to keep temperatures where I wanted them. Thought for a while that pellet grills were garbage. Until my buddy made ribs and I asked what charcoal he was using and he told me it was electric... Anyways did a lot of research on pellet grills and was really lucky and got a steal "literally" they gave me the higher end model by accident but ended up with a Green mountain pellet grill with wifi and all the bells and whistles for like $350. I'm a science person and like to know my temps and have the ability to setup cooks. The app is awesome, and you literally just have to put the meat on and the rest is controlled from the app. It has wifi and can contact you on your phone anywhere. So, it is a true set it and forget it. I've used it a ton, they are much betterr quality than traeger and usually less than half the price. Customer service is phenomenal. They sent me a cover for free as a veteran which was around $40 and I had scratched the paint a little when loading and unloading so they also sent me free touch up paint. I've used it a ton, smoked whole 25 lb turkeys for thanksgiving several time with plenty of room. Elk, deer, antelope backstrap or whole quarters. Did an elk pastrami on it as well. Will be using it this weekend after I finishing brining and curing my first black bear ham. They come with 2 meat probes but you can use up to 4, which is handy in non uniform cuts.
Anyways, I know this is not a what you asked for but for recipes and BBQ in general I highly highly recommend amazing ribs It was what got me started on the rabbit hole of bbq and meat starting on a basic Weber charcoal grill. He talks to food scientist and goes into the real truth of bbq vs hear say. Also, I highly recommend getting a thermapen MK4 instant read thermometer. Very pricey,(if you sign up for there email list you get discounts all the time) I use it almost everyday, and do not regret getting it.

Was a gas grill cooker for a long time, then switched to a Weber Kettle and made some really good pork using the "snake' method with the charcoal. 4 years ago I got the Pit Boss which is similar to the BGE and have been hooked ever since. You can't beat a kamado as it bakes, smokes, grills, and does high heat. read 900*+ searing. Something as simple as burgers tastes way different than food off of a gasser. Still have a Weber gasser for during the week quick stuff.
