Greenland - Yes or No? Where are the "we need more public land" people?

Should the USA add Greenland to its public land/water portfolio?

  • Yes

  • No

  • I am not sure.

The govt. of both Greenland and Denmark have come out against the idea. Move on.
I'm sure the government has the peoples best interest in mind.:ROFLMAO:

I've listened to both sides and there are legit arguments on each. I think if a large majority of the people of Greenland(there are only 56,000 of them) want to be part of the US it would be great for both of us. I also hate the idea of the US violating the place with mining and tourism, but not as much as China and Russia mining in Greenland...

Something like 90% of the people of Greenland want to be removed from Denmark's control and near 65% would like to become a US territory as per recent polls. It is a strategic move to keep the rare earth minerals out of our non allied countries ownership.

Is there a good/definitive resource on the status of Greenland under international law with respect to Denmark? I also think the idea is a bit of a troll post, perhaps with some intent to get to something else (or not), but I for one don't know the mechanics, which I expect is more theory than reality.

My post definitely doesn't read correctly. If 65% of them want to be part of the US I think it would be great.

Wait a minute... there might be legal precedent. Of course! Land-snatching!

Land, land... Land: see Snatch.

Ah, Haley vs. United States. Haley: 7, United States: nothing. You see, it can be done!

As noted the people of Greenland want out of the agreement with Denmark and if they would like to secure themselves under the umbrella of the USA..I’d be all for it..

the nonsense of us invading them is just stupid talks points from the usual brainwashed fools.

gonna be a lot of hurt feelings today.

this was in the works during the first term of DJT..

as a sportsman it would be awesome to have opportunities to hunt and fish over there. went there once and it’s a beautiful landscape.

I'm not sure how much I would rely on polls. We can't seem to get them to work in this country, but maybe they are more accurate elsewhere.

LMAO , too funny , you think you are a serious anything if you think we as a country can just choose to take another country because we want their resources ? It should hurt to be so misinformed .
To be fair, that isn't a terrible explanation of westward expansion.

Yea, it's not like the Louisiana Purchase became a major part of our country. Or, Seward's Folly... aka Alaska.

I also don't think this is a "take/invade" idea. It would certainly be more of a purchase deal.

Lets not throw "right wing" "left wing" stones at each other. This is a topic at hand right now and I am interested to see how it pans out. I do not fully understand all the details, but look forward to more education on the matter.

OK , the OP posed this as a lets do this as it's good for hunting and he want more public land . Like it was fundraiser for wildlife , and we should get onboard for the good of increasing our hunting access .
And thats how shit like these get done , grass root efforts get the word out , no matter how flawed the idea is , people react with a knee jerk going with my gut thing because Bubba says its good !
Public sentiment comes and now its getting done for the "Greater Good " !
BS , we will get nothing , the Greenies will get nothing and the rich will get richer , same old shit !
As ,soon as we annex it or whatever you want to call it , guess what ?
Surprise ! We need to create a infrastructure ,on the taxpayers dollar of course , so the rich mining company can cash in on their political donations .

Smoke and mirrors , again .
