Grandpa's rifle

I'm trying to figure out the date of mfg for this .270 win Remington 721 that was my grandfathers. The more I search online, the less clear I am about sorting this out.

Any Remington experts out there that can help me out?

The pictures below include what i believe is the serial number but there are several other stamps i dont understand.

My guess is 1956.

I have the same rifle, I contacted remington directly. I believe mine was 1951 or 52 with an apex barrel,,, don't remember exactly. Try this link, it might help you.

I think the 721s were made from late 40s to early 60s, so 1956 would check out

I've never fired it so I don't know.
