Ya I am inclined to agree with you.

I have a dogtra beeper. It's probably a 2 or 3 second delay time. It actually gets annoying because if he pauses to look around it goes off.

If these birds would just dumb down abit a 10 sec delay wouldn't be a huge deal.
Ya well I'm having ruffed grouse flush 80 yds ahead of the dog. That sucks when it takes 10 miles on average to find 1 in the south

Anybody actually downloading maps on their alpha handhelds and using them? I did one local area i hunt often but find going out and finding other locations pretty frustrating on the unit itself.

I’m surprised you’re having issues with birds holding in cover tall enough to hide your dog. Usually I’ll get a point alert and then have to hunt around to find my dog and then watch the bird flush on the other side of the Hawthorne trees.

I think its a combination of them competiting right now and hunt pressure.

I get an initial point typically and move in and the birds gone. Then chaos begins as both dogs race to relocate and bump birds.

Aaah, that makes more sense. Are the dogs whoa trained? Might not hurt to whoa them up when they get bonkers and try to out some brakes on them as they relocate.

Yes, I put the same maps on the Alpha that I have on my Montana.
