Just use Gaia or Onx on your phone

yeah dont waste your money got a smart phone download Gaia you can thank us later. its better then any full screen gps out there. and you can download maps so when your out of cell service your still able to get your way around.

I was just about to squeeze off on a Garmin. I'll have to look into Gaia GPS myself.

Well it's unfortunate that the trend is going towards needing to carry a smartphone to get in the woods since Onx is no longer supporting their GPS chips. But the advantage is that if you want to be a holdout like myself, browse the classifieds here -- lots of unsold GPS units there for a big discount.
