I am looking for something I can mount on my quad handlebars and take off and be hand held. I often am searching for areas / cut blocks / terrain that is fairly complex to find.

It has been the case lots of times where I find something that looks awesome on google earth and I want to check it out, but I end up getting mixed up in the bush and not being able to find my spot I had found online. I have also lost the quad a couple times having left it to go off and hike a few miles.

Ive decided I need a GPS. I want something that is going to show all the FSR's, be water proof and durable. Is there a way of loading locations on a map like a way point and loading it onto a GPS so I can find a location?

Im not interested in using cellphone apps as my phone often dies and receives poor signal if any at all when off in the bush.

thanks for any advice

Mike.

Micus, I'm not aware of being able to download way points from a computer to the unit..(there must be a way). I've always just entered the coordinates manually into the GPS and naming them something you'll remember, after finding the coords on GE

2nd this and then get a 'ram mount' for the quad. Transferring waypoints from google earth to the GPS is a whole new thread. :) That has been discussed before. **disclaimer** I'm also partial to the Garmin for I own a 60csg and a 62series. (64 is their new line up)
