My wife and I both have pensions and are maxing out IRAs.I would fund an IRA pointed at the S&P 500 and put it towards retirement and forget that I even had it.
Interesting…not sure I am a Rolex guy, but maybe could become one?? LolRolex, or at least a solid chunk down on one. Won’t ever loose money and it will be passed down for generations.
I thought those or the new 12x42 EL ranges would be a solid option. I could give my Kowas to my son.12 NL’s and be happy for eternity
I’ll have to think about this. I generally just do whatever hunts I want throughout the year. I go to AK every year for a moose hunt, will hunt multiple states for elk or deer when I draw a decent tag. I have been averaging 30-45 nights out hunting the last couple years. Its not really enough for a guided hunt, kind of a weird inbetween amount.
When it comes to hunts, yes. I kind of do. Rifles, optics, etc. i usually buy everything used, flip/resell to get up to where I am. That is more of a habit from when times were tighter financially. Right now we are very comfortable, but that hasn’t always been the case. All my hunts are DIY, never paid a guide. I have never gone out and just dropped $3k on anything without selling a couple things off first. My Kowa 66a I purchased through a buddy who is a Kowa dealer at a significant discount. I flipped my 553 and was only out of pocket $1000. I think it is more psychological than financial limitations. So $5k to just spend on whatever isn’t a place I have been before. Then I guess I'm confused on what your question truly is; sounds like you spend money how and on what whenever you please without batting an eye.
