Had a tough day this week. Out of nowhere, she was almost totally incapacitated. Went to emergency vet. Hemangiosarcoma tumor on her heart. Nothing we could do to save her. Drained fluid from around her heart for a few hours of relief & to give my son time to love on her & tell her goodbye.

It’s heartbreaking but she had a great life of almost 11 years. Each day full of love, happiness, eagerness to please & seemingly unlimited energy.

Lover of belly rubs, elk bones & pork rinds

Disrespector of daylight savings time

My shadow & best friend to my boys

Sorry Crowmangler. Losing a good dog is damn near unbearable. I'm reading this as I sit with my plott on our carport couch. A man only has a few good dogs in their lifetime. I think the hardest part when losing a good dog is thinking that you'll never find another good one.

On my local Michigan forum they used to do a sticky/section in the upland/dog section for hunting dogs that pass away. Always thought it would be a good addition to this site.

Sorry about losing your buddy, my GSP is turning 14 in a couple weeks and I dread that day.

To the rainbow bridge, Kana. I sure hope we do get to see them again some day.

My pup will get an extra belly rub tonight in honor of Kana

That just plain sucks, man.

Sorry for your loss. Dogs are the best people I know. A little humor, which I hope makes you smile at this difficult time - I was in Whole Foods (a yuppie and expensive grocery store) the other day. An attractive young woman with an adorable GSP of about 12 weeks was parading around and there was a group of middle age men huddled at the end of an aisle talking among themselves looking the woman's direction. She thought they were looking at her and was clearly annoyed with this behavior. One of the guys noted her attitude and said in a loud voice, "Don't flatter yourself, we're looking at your dog!" I had the sense that humbled her. Again, sorry to hear about your dog's passing.

Sorry to hear about your loss .Have had a GSP in the man's best friend stable since 1990 .
Never forget my first one " Henry " . It's 0458 here on 11-17 - 25 , drinking coffee after I let " Madison " our now near three yo out back and brought her in for breakfast. Heartbreaking kinda not good with words .
" God bless " ! ........ from sw Fla edge of the Fla Everglades.

As someone who prefers dogs over people, I'm really sorry to hear about your buddy. It is NEVER easy to part ways but time does heal.
Hang in there and Ginger says hey.
