Looking to get a good lightweight tripod I can throw on the pack for my spotter and binos and need some advice. Just curious what everyone is using and what you all would recommend! Thanks

I have been using the a slik 624 and 522 with the benro s2 pan head go to s and s archery and check then out. For backpack hunting they have been a lot nice than my 6 lb full-size tripod. Not quite as stable but worth the weight savings

S and S archery has done a great job comparing and contrasting some of the best options. Check their website.

What spotter and binos? If you have a heavy spotter, you'll want a solid (read heavier) setup

I'm using a Slik mini 2 with Vanguard ph-111v for my 10x42 (field optics research bino adapter) and camcorder. Love the weight (2 lb 7 oz) and the compact size.

Used my buddies outdoorsmans setup and once you are situated, you couldn't tell the difference between the $800 one and the $120 one. No joke, both are solid.

Hey thanks guys! Good info so far! As far as optics will mainly be used with my vortex razor 65mm spotter and 10×42 binos.

Hey Utah Jimmy, how stable is your setup with a 65 mm spotter on it?

I have not tried a spotter. I tried to put an 85 on there but the QR plates were different from the Gitzo head to the Vanguard.

The mini's leg extensions are plastic...
