I drew my bull moose tag in Colorado.

I'm going to splurge and buy a new Mathews v3x 29" for it.

Can I get some suggestions of a good pro shop that actually knows what they're doing on the western Slope.

I bought my own press and learned how. There is a shop in Denver that is really good but I cannot recall the name. I know several on here use them though I’m sure they will chime in

Rocky Mountain specialty gear is my favorite. They are very good and their customer service is even better. No limits is also awesome!

I tried Red Rocks.
There attitude was cocky as hell,
And guy had to clue what he was
Doing,

This was 4 years ago,
Did they get new owners?

Buy the bow online and include a las chance ez press in your splurge. Even the good shops have some pretty dumb techs come through. Rolling the dice every time you hand your bow over to a stranger.

Look up Archery in the Wild outside of Kremmling. Used to be in Longmont but relocated to the mountains. Has a very nice pro shop setup with a great selection of bows. They do ask that you contact them first (i.e., don't just drop in).

Yep. If you’re serious about your stuff, learning to set up and tune a bow isn’t hard at all.

Also to OP - just because people recommend a place doesn’t mean the people there are competent. I used to ask for recommendations, only to walk into shops with idiots or jackasses running the place.

Red rock has always been good to me, but I’ve never needed service on my bow. I heard Gabe was retiring and his brother was taking over?

Gabe has tried to sell several times and nothing has ever gone through. No idea where they stand now but I hope someone who loves archery can take that place over and make it what it once was again

There is still one good guy at RRA, I’m pretty sure his name is Pete. Otherwise, yea I would go elsewhere.

Anyone around one here have a Bow Press?

I went in last week and bought a dozen arrows. They seem to have cleaned the place up, a bit. Arrows cut and in hand in 15 minutes.

I too drew a CO moose tag and am getting my bow/arrow set bulked up. I'm working with Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear and, as others have said, I can't recommend them highly enough. Great shop and service.

I haven't personally used them but my buddy had a good experience working with Grand Mesa Archery in Cedaredge.
