Thought that there would be intelligent information shared.

Have ridden and owned ebikes, emphasis on the owned part. They do a lot more than I think you are trying to infer. While not an electric dirt bike, they are not a bicycle either.

I think if you need a motor you should stick to motor trails. If you disabled there are approved modes of transportation. If you are just not in good enough shape, life is not fair.

You don’t think the backcountry isn’t busy enough? You think Teddy Roosevelt had no foresight when these rules and areas were set up and protection put in place? Why make it accessible to all when the purpose it was founded on is the exact opposite.

I think this is a positive change and may provide increased access, especially to those with limited capabilities due to disabilities, injuries or "old age". Given the price and hassle of transporting/securing ebikes, I just don't see them taking over the trails any time soon.

Two of the three ebike categories require the rider to be pedaling to make use of the e-motor. The motor is there to assist with power and/or speed to certain limits. I've never ridden one but understand that they are very quiet. I don't see any worse impact on trails than horses or manual bikes.

I’ll join with stick… if you don’t think the backcountry isn’t crowded as is especially in Co, let me know where you are hunting. I’ll save up for an e-bike and come to your unit I think motorized trails should be for just that.

E-Bikes go for a couple grand, that hardly makes it accessible for all. Its not like a huge influx of people are going to purchase e-bikes all of a sudden just for hunting. Some will, sure. But its not going to have the impact you think. Besides, if it bothers you that much, hunt away from trails and you wont even see an e-bike.

when did people become incapable of pedaling a bike without assistance? I’m an avid rider and runner, I appreciate the fact that sweat equity earns you solitude from the slobs that are lazy. When I see someone on a distant trail that got their with hard work, I know I’m in good company. Every millennial wants to punch the “easy button”these days because they deserve it.

I am not worried about hunters, 2k is cheap, mtn bikes for a decent one is 4k. People will spend that easy, check out sales. The trails will be filled with non-hunters. There are already plenty out now without bikes and increasing. Recreational traffic is a huge impact on elk herds. I have lobbies against new mtn bike trails in the steamboat area because of it. I certainly will fight against state wide increased recreational traffic for areas set aside for protection. The increase of ebikes on the front range has been huge, many riding on trails illegally without knowing it. Nothing good would come of this.

Absolutely! I’m not a tri-athlete or a stud but years of humping weight for Uncle Sam and keeping somewhat healthy and disciplined allows for an edge in the field. When I’m old or disabled I’ll hunt near the motorized trails and be okay with it.

I think a clear line has been drawn already with non motorized trails and that's the way it should stay. You give into ebikes eventually whoever or whatever is next in line will want the same access so then do we really have a black and white line or is it pretty grey and allows for different interpretations of what is allowed and what should be allowed.

It won't be any of those things that destroys hunting in Colorado. Enjoy the first 10 years or so after wolves are introduced, that'll be the heyday of elk and deer hunting as you know it.

Ebike threads are pointless for info. You've got advocates for and against, neither is going to change the other's mind. The amount of self- proclaimed badasses is the most entertaining part. Guess they haven't figured out that the less wear and tear you put on your body the longer it lasts.
