Im thinking of getting into NRL22 and I don't have a suitable rifle.

For LH options I have found:
Bergara B-14R
Tikka T1x
CZ 457
Savage MKII
Savage B22

Im having a strong preference for the Bergara because its a true 700 pattern with all the aftermarket & AICS mags but the price is hard to swallow. Savage is obviously the budget leader but them, Tikka, and CZ are slim on aftermarket LH stocks.

Anything im forgetting?

Which would you choose?

We have 2 steel bergaras here. They are my boys 22s. They shot them a lot and moved on to 223. Started with 2 lefties and figured out one boy is right eye dominate so we have both.

My 22 is a 457 scout.

The Bergara barrel is really heavy. I had ours fluted and they came back heavy. Comments about the carbon version on forums skeeved me out on that option.

I shot a buddies T1x.

All good stuff just different.

I've never been interested in savage stuff and was not impressed with the couple I have handled.

I have a CZ 452, 455, and 457, all slightly different, all perfect triggers and insanely accurate... the 452 and the 455 are pickier than the 457 but any match quality ammo shoots under .5 at 50yds out of any of the 3, none of them are heavy target guns either.

I also built a expensive fancy 10/22 that shoots extremely well also.... BUT for the price any variant of the 457 is what I would suggest, I've had savages, marlin, remington, and a Christiansen. I would suggest CZ.

First off, you said 'good', second off you're whining about cost. So there is no use of me even mentioning the Zermatt RimX, because you'd cry like a baby when you seen the price for the action, and the best mags made, will have you in a real stupor......
Yet you still mentioned it.

For those Leftys, are there adjustable stock/chassis options for the CZ, Tikka, Or Savages other than Boyds?

If not, does anyone have experience with the Boyds At-One?

The Boyd's is pretty cheesy.

We put both of our bergaras in XLR. The boys prefer sitting supported and standing over prone still.

I see the XLR is available in LH for the Tikka & 700. Cool.

You say Boyds is cheesy......how so? I dont think ive ever touched one so I just see it as an option for everything im interested in and seems like it could work.

Boyd's:

Craftsmanship and finish is crude.

The adjustable parts embedded in the stock (comb and LOP) are cheap looking and feeling.

It serves a purpose and hits a price point but it's nothing special.

I run the savage and the cz 452. I chopped both barrels and threaded them. Upgraded the trigger and all springs on the 452. They are both a blast to shoot.

After looking at the divisions, The Bergara would put me into Open div unless I put some dirt cheap optic on it which I wont do.

For those that have done NRL22 in Base div, are you going to move to Open at some point or are you having a great time in Base?
