Anybody have one they would highly recommend? Back when I bought my pants, the only way to get the right length was to get a waist about 2 inches too big. The combo of that and a 9mm on a tactical hip holster was too much for my Kifaru belt this past season--I was constantly re-cinching it, pulling my pants up and pulling my 9 up...driving me nuts. And on top of all that, my hip bones were rubbed raw. Not sure if that was the hip belt on my pack or the awful mess underneath it.

Better fitting pants are available now, so I plan to get those, but I'd still like to get a good, wide belt that won't slip.

I dont love all the kuiu stuff I try but one of the items I thought was just fine was their belt. I think its a perfect belt. Simple and light. Its comfortable and low profile. Its quiet cause of the single buckle, not rattling parts. It does not slip at all. Absolutely zero slip if you double it over, which is how I think its designed to work, but I just run it through and its fine. Its the only original kuiu item I still have.

I also used the Kuiu belt for a couple years, then heard about the HPG belt. For $18, I figured I'd give it a try. I like it much better than the Kuiu, so I ended up selling it. For what it's worth, that's the only Kuiu product I've ever sold because I found something better, and I have a lot of their clothing.

The Innovative velcro belt is nice. Hill People markets a double laminate one from them also. Infinitely adjustable and don't need to take off in airport!
Best part is no interference or rubbing under a backpack.

check out Bison Belts at bisondesigns.com, they actually make the belts you see from Kuiu, Sitka, etc. I use the Bison Last Chance Light Duty belt and it's awesome. the Belt Kuiu sells is their Danger Belt which is also a great belt. They're great no nonsense belts!

No worries, happy to have the discussion. It's amazing how much the little things can matter.

Any commentary on the pros/cons of the OVI Under Pack belt vs the double-layer HPG version of the same belt? I'm guessing the OVI version "disappears" under a hip belt a little better, but the HPG version might do a better job supporting weight that's hanging off the belt (like my tactical holster)?

I cant find where I ever seen in. I think it was in KUIUs blog or a video but it was ages ago when I first bought the belt. Maybe I am just crazy. They took the access and pulled it back over the top of the buckle and fed it through the buckle again. It still keeps a low profile. The access webbing would not be going in the opposite direction. I don't know if that makes sense. But if you do that it, it cannot slip at all.

One pic is the belt fed through just once like what I would call "normal" and the other pic is it doubled back over.

Maybe that makes sense with pictures. You made me take my belt off at work and start taking pictures of it. Haha.

There are many brands of riggers belts intended for wear with military combat uniforms that work well. Spec Ops are made in the USA along with several other brands

Keep in mind, the bigger heavier belts do not ride well with waist belts on packs. I used a Spec Ops riggers belt and learned this the hard way on my last mountain hunt. Maybe with light loads it will be fine.

Now I'm picking up what your laying down... thanks for the pics! Mine slips a little sometimes so I'll try this.

I've resorted to the Eddie Bauer stretch belt with my duplex frsme. I have a core4 belt but it's too bulky. I had some luck with a light cheap belt that came with some pants but it slipped a little . The Eddie Bauer belt has some stretch but seems to stay put.

I really like the Eddie Bauer Genius belt. It works well for pants that have a little too big a waist. I'm 30x36 but usually have to buy a 32-inch waist.

But.

But, the Eddie Bauer belt does not work well with a pistol holster, at least in my experience.

I have a stout Bison Designs belt that works okay with a holster, but it is hell on my hip bones under a pack hip belt. And I don't care for the buckle. It is the one with the piece that can slide and is knurled to grab the webbing. It tends to loosen up on me.

I'd like to try the Kuiu belt, or its Bison equivalent.

Great thread, I have two of the Black Ovis belts and learned the hard way this past fall in Idaho. These belts, at least for me anyway, are great for use with a lighter pack for whitetail hunting but when I put my heavier Kuiu pack on it seemed like I was always adjusting my pack and readjusting my pants in the mountains. I will have to look at a couple of these suggestions.
