I had a very disappointing experience with Golden Eagle Outfitters in Alaska. Communication was extremely poor from the start. Emails went unanswered for long stretches of time, and when responses did come, they were vague and unhelpful. It was very difficult to get clear information about our booking.


What was most frustrating was the handling of our money during the state closure. Despite the circumstances being outside of our control, they did not return our payment. We repeatedly tried to contact them to discuss options or request a refund, but our emails were ignored. There was no proactive communication, no updates, and no effort to work toward a fair resolution.


When you’re booking a trip that requires a significant financial commitment, you expect professionalism and responsiveness. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before booking, as customer service and communication were severely lacking.

When did you book, and when was your hunt?

Can you explain the closure a little more?
 
The hunt was booked before the federal closure. We were told by golden eagle that this occurs every year and that it would not pass. Well, it did pass and no money was returned. We did sign an agreement that money would not be returned if WE SHOULD DECIDE not to come. This decision was out of our hands and money should have been returned. This happen to many others as well. Not an honest operation.

I hate that this has happened. I hunted with them in 2020 and we had a good trip, I recommended them off that in my article and post. That was before the closure and it sounds like things since then turned bad.
