Same experience, my fiancé really enjoys our Tikka 6.5 Creed. I call it ours because I bought it to get her into shooting/hunting, but now I take it with me every time I can. My 7mm rem mag sits lonely now. Hopefully not for too much longer as I got a new 6.5 PRC barrel for it.

Not my wife but I've helped set up a young friend with a Tikka T3X .243 suppressed.
She struggled a bit at first (shes all of 100lbs) but after some range time with reduced recoil loads and working up to full house hunting loads I all sorts of positions its all coming together now with some quick clean kills recently.

Whatever you buy her it has to fit. When my wife wanted a SS rifle for deer hunting this is what we did.
Purchased a SS Tikka in 6.5 Creedmoor
Had the barrel cut to 20 inches
Ordered a McMillan stock to match her length of pull with a 1 inch recoil pad in the colors she choose.
Now she has a rifle that was "built" for her. The barrel length is proportional to the stock and since she picked the colors she likes it and enjoys using it. Make sure the stock is sized to her with her hunting jacket/coat on.

Tikka 300 win mag. Lighter weight and good all around elk/moose gun.

My wife have been deer hunting some with my 300 wby. She said she didnt to to have to track it. Guess I will see what a Hornady 178gr ELD-X bullets will do.

Kimber Montana in a short action. I was seeking same in '12 and bought my wife one in .308, muzzle braked gun, very little recoil. $900. Had it KUIU wrapped for her birthday in '13.
The gun weighs 4lbs 13oz. scantly more with the SWFA ultralight on it.

My wife shoots a savage lady hunter 6.5 creedmor. She is small in stature. This gun is built specifically for women. She loves it. And it's a tackdriver.

10 years ago it was a compact tikka in 308. Doing it all over now with a 6 GT.

A few others have mentioned, but the Howa Mini in 6mm ARC is a sweet little package. I’d imagine a Tikka compact in something like .243 or 6.5 Creed would be a good carry gun on the smaller side as well. Either way, I’d present a few of those as options and pick what she truly likes.
