I’m sitting with a good problem,I drew my limited elk tag and will be in the elk woods for the first 10 days of the Wyoming antelope season(starts 9/15). I have to get home and stick around for at least 7-10days. So I won’t be able to hunt my antelope tag until around 10/10, with the season being in for almost a month, should I be concerned? Kinda has me thinking maybe I should change my app before tomorrows deadline and pick a unit with a later start date.

Any input in appreciated.

I've hunted them a bunch of times late in the season, yes some of the better bucks might of gotten shot but you also almost always have less hunters out there to contend with. The only thing that can be an issue is that anytime you hunt later in the season the weather can get you, I've been rained out or snowed out a couple times, if you have enough time not a problem but its something to think about.

We hunted my daughters antelope tag last year a month into the season it was awesome, no people around and plenty of antelope. They dont go into hiding like other critters lots will have been harvested already but lots will still be around. This was in Idaho and only 60 or so total tags but I’ve hunted type 2 in Wyoming before with an October start date and it seems to translate
