GOHUNT Lightweight Hunting Pant

I am ordering a pair. They look similar to me as the first lite corrugate, which is one of my favorites. Probably a bit lighter, which will be nice. I am a fan of knee pads in hunting/shooting pants.

Sure hope their fit research/blocks fares better than their atmosphere jacket.......I love that they aren't just white lableing (everything) and are developing some stuff. The atmosphere was bad enough I would really struggle to try another apparel piece straight out of the gates - of course, Kuiu really struggled there between pieces for a LONG time.

Yeah the atmosphere looked like a dress on me. Fortunately they're easy to deal with on returns. Low risk with free shipping.

I like the approach hoodie shirts though, just bought another and an approach lite. They fit me well. Great thumbhole design too. Only gripe is that the tags are super itchy. Need to cut them out.

I don't mind a little extra length in hunting pants. But yeah, no inseam under 32"...Never tried kneepad pants either. Not sure if I'll like or hate them.

I feel seen! I was watching their launch video for the pants on Youtube and stopped watching as soon as they said only regular & tall inseam lengths.

I hope they come out with a line of boots next. And offer them in a wide range of sizes from 11.5 all the way to 13. Really corner the market. And if your feet don’t fit, they can offer you some foam spacers.

I tried out a pair as was looking for a lightweight pant with knee padding. This pant had a lot of good features that I was after.

I shredded the seat after one day of desert hunting. My arse is well ventilated.

Has potential to be a great pant, just needs to resolve durability issues.

I have a pair and I like them. The Kuiu Kutana are my comparison point for an early-to-mid season pant here in AZ. I haven't tested the GoHunts in really pokey brush yet so I can't speak to whether they handle that stuff long-term like the Kutanas. If they do, then I'll be really happy with them.

Likes:
  • The built-in belt is great and doesn't slip (I'm constantly readjusting the belt on my prana zions, for example). This is the biggest reason why I tried the GoHunts. If the Kutanas had a good built-in belt I think they'd be the perfect pant. I know it's 50-50 in terms of people liking a built-in belt but I think they're rad.
  • The fit is good for me. I have skinny legs and understand why the Kutanas aren't for everybody, especially those who need more thigh room. These GoHunts have a plenty more room in the thighs and ass, but still taper down nicely in the lower leg. They actually get skinnier than the Kutanas at the very bottom of the leg and will feel pretty tight when going over a larger pair of boots (might not be everyone's cup of tea but I like it).
  • The removable knee pads are actually great. I thought I wouldn't like them and guessed that, even with them removed, I wouldn't like how the extra fabric would feel in the knee. But I've tried them both in and out and think they feel very comfortable. Nice to have the option to put them in quickly, quietly, and easily on an archery stalk.
  • Pockets work for my preferences. Front hand pockets are good. Thigh pockets are good. Pretty simple, good design. I could do without the back pocket but it's not a dealbreaker. Maybe I wish the back pocket had a zipper so I could close it off and not worry about brush and dirt getting in there. Seems fine, though.
Dislikes:
  • While the hip vents are great (and a must for me), there isn't a mesh lining. I'd prefer if they had the mesh lining so I'm not worrying about debris getting in. Not a dealbreaker.
  • I'm not sold on the double crotch zipper. I can't imagine ever using the bottom zipper. I wish they had just used a single, slightly longer zipper. If I had extra layers and gloves and a backpack on, I feel like the shorter length of the zipper will be a bit of a pain when taking a piss. More room to work with wouldn't hurt. Not a dealbreaker but definitely my least favorite part so far.
Again, not sure on the durability part yet with the brush here in the desert. If I didn't deal with having to walk through catclaw all the time, I'd say these are plenty good if you like the features and fit.
