GoHunt Atmosphere - New Primaloft Evolve Jacket

Oh, boy. Ordered one in to replace my dying original ambient hoody. I wanted to believe they might be doing development with some experienced people, but I’m really not sure that’s the case here. After the video release showing they are trying to do pants and shelters I joked they should stop trying to be everything……now I know that’s the case.

So I’ll just list what I found. 5’8” 165, medium for reference.

- cuffs are like a dead bird atom lt hoody, but the stretch material is loose.
- the length is pretty comical. When your sleeves and torso are longer than SG…..wow.
- the hand pockets are really low, snack dab for a waste belt.
- it’s wider than every medium piece I have. Sized like and outer/over layer.
- the hood is good, some extra material for my small dome so it doesn’t fit close/tight as intended.
- the armpits and shoulders are quite weird. The arm pits start very low and flare out, and the shoulders are oddly tight just wearing the piece. With most technical layers and jackets, they are pattered so when you lift your arms the jacket torso doesn’t ride up a lot. I cannot emphasize enough just how much that is not the case with the atmosphere piece. You raise your arms and the entire jacket moves up crazy high.

I’m including some photos with the atmosphere showing a dynafit alpha direct hoody, original ambient hoody, old atom lt, SG cirque over the top. Pictures don’t do it justice.

I love the go hunt guys, the podcast, even some of the products they put out. I like the gear shop and even the idea of them trying to make good gear. They seem to be genuinely developing stuff, but are branding a LOT of stuff quickly. Too quick it seems. Holy crap guys, this is a tough scene, especially with all the talk on getting fit dialed. This ain’t it. I get not fitting every body type, but wow.

I hope the piece works for most folks, truly. It’s evolve so it’s soft, light and warm, orettt comfortable.
