Goal Zero Venture 70 and Nomad 20

Hey everyone! Looking for anyone who has experience working with these items, I bought them brand new and charged up the venture 70 like recommended. I then charged my phone multiple times to draw down the power to see how long it would take to charge. It was at one blue light or less than 20%. I left it out in direct sunlight for approx. 8 hours hooked up to the nomad 20 and it only got to 40%. Does this seem right?
