GMU 85 Colorado

Anyone have any experience hunting the public stuff in GMU 85 Colorado for elk? Currently planning a hunt after drawing an archery tag and looks like the San Isabel NF and Spanish peaks are best bet but unsure of which to try for. Going to get there 3 days before season for a scout but feel that’s not enough time to cover several areas.
Do the elk general respond there as well? This is my first elk hunt and I’ve practiced calling a lot and am pretty comfortable but get mixed reviews on its effectiveness on Colorado public Elk.

Dang rule #2 pretty much nailed me. My apologies. Not all my post was in regard to location though. As a new elk hunter is there any calling do’s and don’t’s regarding early season elk?
