What gloves are you using? I'm looking for a cold weather windbreaker/water repellent type glove that are not bulky and can withstand cold days on high ridges glassing all day. Whats your recommendations?

I am using a layering system just like I would for clothing. I use the First Lite merino glove liners (which aren't very durable for anything else) and put them under a set of USGI wool gloves. My hands stay fairly warm like this and I can even draw and shoot my 60lb recurve fairly accurately. If it gets really windy and wet I put both sets away and take out my MH gloves. I can't remember what they are called, but they are a windproof/weather resistant glove with a built in liner. They are specifically for mountain climbing, but I can also draw and shoot with these gloves on. They are also smartphone touch screen compatible if that interests you.

I like the Sitka Stratus gloves - windproof - haven't had them in a downpour, but almost any glove gets wet in a rain storm...

I like the sitka jetstream glove, though it is not enough when you're not moving and it's below 25 degrees or so. I keep a pair of Outdoor Research Highcamp gloves in my pack to put over the jetstream gloves in that situation. Outdoor Research also makes a three finger (thumb, trigger finger, one three fingers together) version of the Highcamp. These are both crazy warm. I use them when ice fishing when I am outside and moving move than my shack will allow.

KUIU Northstar are about as good as they get in terms of what you're looking for. As long as you don't sweat inside them you're good to go. Theyre 100% waterproof. I love mine, they weigh 7.2 oz.

The Yukon Pro gloves look pretty slick and are apparently sleeker in design if you are trying to minimize bulk. Have not ever handled a pair of those though...

It really matters how cold you are talking about. I've used the Kuiu Guide Gloves and the Sitka Jetstream Gloves. Both were nice. For late season glassing on a high ridge with snow on the ground I want something warmer than those. I've been thinking about the Kuiu Yukon Pro Golves. These are water proof, windproof, and are slightly insulated. The Kuiu Northstar's are warmer than the Yukon's, and might be more towards what you are looking for.

Another vote for the north star...they will be with me throughout October and until it gets really cold..they are waterproof and warm

Thanks I appreciate the information guys, I went with Sitka mostly because I run all the rest their gear and love it!
