Last season I used Sitka shooter gloves. I like the fit and they worked ok for what I needed them for. I did not like the touchscreen capabilities. I use ON X maps on my phone for navigation so touchscreen gloves are a must have.

I planned on using them again this year, but my wife decided to use them to stain some woodworking projects. Needless to say, they are ruined.

I ordered the PIG FDT alpha gloves as a replacment after reading some reviews.

I really like the the touchscreen material on the finger and thumb. The material is thin and works for the whole digit unlike the shooter glove which is a small dot of stitched thread.

Thr problem I am having with the FDT gloves is the padding on the knuckles. It is about 1/8th inch thick and it is messing with my anchor point while shooting my bow. I anchor my knuckles on the corner of my jaw for my handheld release.

So, what gloves are you guys using for Archery season? I thought about using the thin merino gloves from Sitka and just cutting the finger and thumb off.

Sounds like you should check out the Sitka Ascent gloves. $$$ but they are minimalist and I've found their touchscreen materials to work well.

Those look like they might be perfect, thanks. They are a bit pricey, but unlike most of my hunting gear purchases I have a blank check for the gloves because my wife felt bad about ruining my other gloves, haha.

I bought some inexpensive gloves on Camofire that have like a mitten over the fingerless gloves. Haven't hunted in them yet but have shot with them a bunch and they work good.

I use the sitka and kuiu merino liners. After a few weeks of use you wont have to worry about cutting the fingers out because they will be worn through. I wear them all the time and by the end of a season they are typically ruined but work very well for me. I don't normally use my phone with the gloves on but i can typically answer calls and things with them by breathing on my thumb and index finger. I think the phones recognize heat?

I haven't found anything i like better than merino liners, might try the first lite ones this year. I prefer the sitka over the kuiu.

I like the muffs like waterfowl hunters use. I think sitka calls theirs the incinerator muff.

I’m using the Sitka merino liners this year. I’ve been shooting with them and so far so good. Nice tight fit so I keep dexterity in them. I’ll be wearing Sitka mountain gloves over them when it gets really cold. I also use the first lite talus fingerless gloves A LOT. Love being able to put bare fingers on by release. Also will be wearing those under the mountain gloves. Another pair that I wear sometimes when the situation calls for it is OR aerator gloves. Much more durable glove that also very form fitting and easy to use a thumb release.

This past season I used Kuiu peloton 130 lightweight gloves(apparently no longer made) and a pair from Kryptek called Krypton.

Outdoor Research Aerator sensor gloves for me. Used to use the mechanix gloves, but find these perfect. Will layer them with a merino line if it gets really cold. Super cold and I’ll wear them under a convertible mitt that flips open to fingerless gloves with the aerator under. I use the Outdoor Research Lost Cost.

I'm in the market for new gloves and I think I'll check out those OR gloves, I've run mechanix before, and I like that those aerators are on the thinner side.

First lite talus for the last 5 years, I own 2 extra pair I love them so much

I do a fair bit of mountain biking and have found that non padded cycling gloves serve really well for hunting as they provide a lot of dexterity and toughness. Prices tend to be decent too.

Since this thread has surfaced again, I should add that the material Fox uses on the back of the gloves is really good at keeping thorns from poking through...which is great for brush busting.

I buy cheap merino and rag wool gloves and cut off the fingers/thumb on my right hand so my anchor/grip stays the same. If it is cold I throw a pair on over the top (or use a muff in the whitetail stand).

Sitka Fanatic gloves come with the index finger and thumb cut off. Can use with any release and no issues with worrying about if they are touch screen compatible.
