An update for my experience with FTFs: I wrote this on another site too: I had the same FTF problems with mine. I put 600-700 rounds through it and still had the problem. I followed advice and switched out the mag springs for Wolff springs (supposedly 10% stronger than stock), still had the problem. I considered the DPM recoil spring because many folks said the Gen 5 springs can't handle the hotter loads. Centennial (CDS) recently came out with a 22# recoil spring for the Gen 5, so I bought one ($40USD). I took it to the Barber range in Palmer and tested with the stock recoil spring and Wolff mag spring, using Underwood 200 hard cast.......... FTF. I then tested target loads with the Centennial recoil spring and stock mag spring............. FTF. With stock everything I fired target loads (whatever was cheapest that day at Alaska Ammo, Winchester Target)......... No FTF with 30 rounds fired. Next I shot Underwood 200 hard cast using the Centennial recoil spring and Wolff mag spring................. success! No FTF with the 30 bullets I had left. I'll test more, but as of now it looks like for target practice I'll keep 2 mags stock with the stock recoil spring, for bear defense I'll keep Wolff mag springs in 2 mags and use the Centennial Defense 22# recoil spring with the hard cast hot loads. Not ideal, but a quick (albeit $60 solution for both aftermarket kits) solution. I still don't feel 100%, it'll take at least a couple more boxes of expensive hard cast with no FTFs to feel good. Having said that, I did strap on the 10mm when I went 4 wheeling up in Petersville last week. No grizzlies attacked me, but a moose and 2 calves walked right into our camp.
