That's my thought. The CCI 180s that are feeding well probably aren't all that far behind the Underwood in round-for-round effectiveness, and way ahead if they run well. If you eventually figure out the problem with the Underwood, great, but personally, I wouldn't sweat carrying the CCI for bear defense if they run well.If nothing else, any .40 FMJ should be able to penetrate enough into a bear to get to the vitals, and it's a situation where reliability is far more important than having the hottest, most perfect load to shoot.
