Glock 20 w/ extended barrel vs. Glock 40 (MOS)

Intended use here is the key consideration.

Tricked out guns are fun on the range...but not as functional in the field.

A Glock defensive handgun just plain works- stock. Add the MOS and barrel and now slide timing and bullet feeding can become an issue with it not being reliable.

Will the MOS work every time, will junk or moisture collect on the optic while plowing through the woods? Will it draw cleanly...or be so big you are constantly bumping it? Of course anyone that has tricked their out is going to sing its praises.

Back when I hog hunted behind dogs logging many hundreds of miles with a defensive handgun in the woods; So much junk collected in my holster I went to a full flap for my large caliber revolver.

Lots of factors but the main one is how it will be used. Personally I think a guy is better off spending the money on ammo and learning how to shoot it.

I keep my 40 MOS in a Hill People Gear chest pack (Original Kit Bag). It draws cleanly and is protected from moisture, dirt, and other environmental issues.

Stock G20.

I’ve had both and liked the 20 Gen 3 SF better with the longer kkm barrel. The 40 does give a little longer sight radius.

Run my 20sf stock other than HD xr sights and stippling,i just trust factory glock to be the most reliable.

I shoot a 20 with a 6” lone wolf and a Vortex venom. Lots of milling done on it so the muzzle flip is intense. I also have a 6” Slide in 45acp and like the longer sight radius and weight at the end much better for control. To each his own but I tend to find myself preferring the 45acp long slide over the 5” 10mm slide with the barrel sticking it out.

Load the 45acp up with some hardcast from Underwood and you have another formidable woods sidearm.
