I am ready to pull trigger on buying a Glock for hunt.I want to use hardcast bullets without modifying gun .How big of round and is the 20 better than the 29 .I was planning on using the Keni gunfighter

Cartridge is identical between the 20 and 29 they are both 10mm. The 20 will be a bit faster than the 29. I shoot the double tap 200 grain WFNGC Hardcast and have not had an issue in the stock barrel but I only shoot 15 or so then shoot some copper jacketed bullets or clean the barrel. I am working on a reload with a very similar bullet design that has Hi Tek coating applied and there is no fouling in the barrel. The main thing with lead hardcast is the width and shape of the meplat or front flat part of the bullet. I haven't done any research on what is the best bullet since 2012 when I bought mine but at that time the Double Tap bullet or Beartooth was the absolute best bullet design. I carry mine in a blackhawk sherpa cqc so I can't help on the holster and how well that will work with either option.

I agree the 20 is what you want to go with. Recoil with the full size 20 is not bad at all, but with the compact 29 it might be a little stout to shoot quickly and accuractely. If you are going to practice with a lot of cast, I'd at least get an aftermarket barrel with normal rifling. I have a 6" LWD Alpha Wolf barrel in my G20. So far it has been awesome, and I got it on sale which is even better. I have also installed a 22# recoil spring to help with recoil and slide velocity with the really heavy cast loads.

I've got the Glock 29. I regularly use 180 grain hard casts for hog hunting. I've installed a Ghost trigger, different recoil spring and Tru-glo tritium sights. It shot well before the upgrades and shoots very well now. Carries well with my OWB Galco leather holster.

I've also used a Glock 20 with similar upgrades minus the recoil spring. The 20 has noticably less recoil, but also noticably more weight.

I've packed a 29 for the last couple years after owning a 20 for a couple previously. The 20 is more fun to shoot, but the 29 is lighter and smaller to carry. Recoil is not pleasant with 220gr buffalo bore, but very manageable with 180s.

I have both but Inprefer the 20. There was a time when the 29 went everywhere with my but I’m not concealing this gun these days so the g20 goes along. I still have the 29’but it’s mostly a truck gun now.

G20 for sure. Longer sight radius, easier to shoot, more reliable with full power loads.

G20 in my opinion is one of the best Woods guns out there IMO, I still have some big revolvers and I’ll probably get more but I find myself taking them along less and less.

g20 with the kenai gunfighter is what I use, it's just brainless to use. 29 is a lot harder to shoot well, esp under pressure. I had a 40 and ended up selling it, though it was definitely sweet. Definitely run a few boxes of your preferred ammo through it. My g20 was finicky with certain of the hardcast loads.

I bought the 30SF, added 23lb springs and a KKM barrel.
Loading up with Buffalo Bore 255gr. hardcast 45 SUPER!!
