I have never done any glamping but with small grandkids and nice weather would like to try and get the entire family outdoors for a vacation. These aren't die-hard campers like most of us here...they need toilets that flush, hot showers, beds, yada yada yada. Has anyone found a nice lakefront glamping operation that's run kinda like a B&B that is located within a four hour drive from So. Calif? Prefer a place with activities (boat docks, rental ATVs & watercraft, fishing, BBQs, archery range, ziplining, stuff to keep the family occupied). My wife's idea of roughing it is slow concierge service in a five star hotel-casino. She's Italian from NYC. So yeah, I need something upscale...with a 24 hour bar perhaps. <g>

I have a similar tent at my pig spot, but with cots. And, you have stayed in it. I now see where your idea for the family came from. Just so you know. No matter how it goes, I will take no credit nor blame.

Some pretty decent yurts at trail of 100 giants up in sequoia. Pretty quiet there though. Definitely no bar, but was never asked what's in my yeti mug either

I didn't mean to sound like an a-hole here. What I meant was from your description of what you're looking for, a lower cost resort might turn up better search results.
Maybe look for Yurts

Try Glampinghub.com. Not sure of anything within 4 hours of LA County that has everything you want, but I am sure you could rent something in Tahoe very similar, minus the on site 24hr bar.....
