Hey everyone Rokslide and SKRE Extreme Mountain Gear have teamed up to celebrate ten years of bussiness with exciting opportunies to win some amazing SKRE Gear. Winners will be drawn randomly from the list of contributors on May 11th.

SKRE Extreme Mountain Gear is interested in what everyone's favorite early season\scouting pieces are and how those pieces are used within your clothing system.

Doesn't matter if you mix and match, or just use pieces from a single company, SKRE Gear wants to hear all about it.

To enter do one of the following
1. Simply enter your favorite piece of clothing to wear scouting or early archery season
2. Post a photo showing you wearing your clothing system and detail your favorite layer . The added effort for posting a photo will double your return and get you two entries in the drawing.

While the Unitas pants are a great option for early season elk, my favorite Skre piece is the hardscrabble pants. They are truly a versatile all-season pant. Keep the hip zips down and you are well ventilated in early season hunts, the mesh in the vents keep pine needles and other debris out. In mid or late season, the vents are great for dumping heat when packing or pushing up to the glassing knob. Layer a set of merino bottoms under them and they work great for stand hunting below freezing and slipping through the timber still hunting in the single digits. The four-way stretch fabric works equally as well to provide the flexibility to crawl over blow-downs or climb into a tree stand. The DWR finish sheds water keeping you dry in snow and light rain, and if you do get soaked in heavy rain (or decide to jump in the creek) they dry quickly for their weight. The are a great all around do anything pant.

Columbia PFG shirts and Kuiu Katana Tiburon pants are my go-to hot weather pieces. I'll switch the top to a merino, hooded First Lite long sleeve if I'm out for more than a weekend for stank factor. Generally prefer a quicker drying synthetic though. Trying the GoHunt hooded, long sleeve synthetic this summer.

Got chilly in the alpine post-sunset in the pic but it was 90+ during the day on this trip. The Katana Tiburon pants are great for the heat but did rip on me at some point over hundreds of deadfall.

Nothing fancy here... For early season scouting and archery elk season, I use a generic light merino wool undershirt, any suitable generic synthetic shirt, and a cabela's synthetic hoodie. For pants either Wrangler or Orvis stretch synthetic pants.

KUIU Attack pants are my go to mountain hunt pants. Currently looking for a durable but packable rain pant to replace the cheap ones I shredded on a soggy couple of days last September.

Kuiu ultra merino 120, my base layer 80% of the time unless it’s really sunny then I’ll go Gila or windy and it’ll be Peleton 97

Dehalivad lite pants from stone glacier, wore 2.5 months straight, wash days are parang zion(the old models).
