IMO I would be happy with the 70gr load and if you wanted to try seating depth change. Those groups are very good for a factory rifle at 200 yards. I'd load more and test them at long ranges and work on your repeatable shooting form.
Nice shooting and good luck.

That load looks really good to me. The groups don't string and are consistent. The .845 moa group is flat but that could be you or any number of things but the rest of the groups with 70gr retumbo are well distributed . You have .377 moa to .567 moa from a factory rifle. Shoot some larger groups and see where you really are. If you pick up less than .1 moa with a couple more shots in the group then you are doing really well. Jmo. I'd play with seating depth now.

Yes sir!

Love to see that evenly dispersed (triangular) group has been fairly consistent throughout. (go back and reference the 1st pics you posted of it) That last horizontal one was prolly you off the trigger, no biggie. Keep sight of the larger picture, that load is grouping consistently well and the speed is there to boot. Wouldn't think twice about going forth and killing with that load once the dope is proven @ distance...

You got a nice shooter, there...

This weekend I got to take my sheep rifle out to long range. Here in GA we don't have wide open spaces and opportunity to practice long range is more difficult to come by. There is a range called Gun Site Hills in Lexington, GA that I have been a few times before and it will allow shots out to 720y. I goofed and did not take my camera phone the first time when I went to repaint the targets but I did take the camera to snap pictures on my second trip down range to repaint the targets. Next time I will need to bring my tape measure. The targets mostly reveal about 0.5 MOA. However I did have a spectacular two shot group of 0.146 MOA at 680yards! I was shooting two and three shot groups because it was over 95 degrees in the shade and I have less than half a pound of Retumbo left on the bench (and three different rifles that love it). The barrel was extremely hot as well so I was trying to not shoot a ton of 5 shot groups.
The G7 BR2 laser rangefinder was calling the drops really well all day for the 270WSM. I will need to tweak the data a little for my 6.5x284 as I needed a little more elevation ( one more minute at 680 and 720yards) to get it perfect.
Here are the few pictures that I took.

600 yards. Not sure why I have so much vertical but they get better the longer I stretched it? FYI that is a 10" ring around the center aiming dot.

680 yards is the target that is out of my mind incredible. I am certain I could not repeat this???
FYI the different color red paint in the bulls eye was me repainting after hitting the bull previously. The range master has everyone bring a spray can of red and white paint and I just grabbed what I had in the garage and it was a little different red color. My rifle really liked pounding the target at 680y!

The farthest you can shoot is this steel at 720y. Maybe Sam or someone can tell me if I am fading a little to the left because I need to input a little spin drift? The range is roughly running North NorthWest.

Spin drift will pull the hits to the right for a RH twist barrel. Coriolis won't come into play at the distance you are shooting. If your zero is perfect, I would guess some wind is messing with you (doesn't take much at all at 700+ yards) or possibly mirage affecting how you see the target? The hits are still well within your rifle's accuracy bubble. I would agree with most in this thread that you have a factory tube that is shooting very well!

Don't psych yourself out with the rifle/load combo. It looks good. Bring plenty of ammo and your velocity/drop data to your hunt location. Spend some down time proving drops on rocks where you're hunting.

Thanks for the help Sam! Maybe it is my zero that is a little bit to the left or the wind. I will not have another chance to shoot til I get in hunt camp in Alaska. Now I am just going over gear and getting packed up and gear weighed.

Looks GREAT!
Very happy to see that load is holding up well for you with the range stretched out a bit.
Looks like you're gettin' good drop data too, as evidenced by your vertical on target being right there. Don't fret the left POI, prolly just a touch of breeze you didn't pick up on...

This is an excellent thread. Shows what to look for in a good shootin' load, from "soup to nuts"...

Have fun & enjoy that baby!!!

What the heck happened with the R22 / 150 ABLR load? I'm getting 2,846 in a vanilla 270 with 4831sc. I was thinking you should be around 3,100 with that load.

Sorry I missed this post I was chasing sheep in Alaska!
I am not sure why the velocity was down so much with the RL22 and 150g AccuBond LR. What weight bullet are you shooting, 150g?
The rifle did really well in Alaska and I got my sheep. All of the practice and prep paid off for me.

Yeah, 150 ABLR. Its all moot now though, nice ram. Don't know if your bud that snapped the pic planned the scene or not, but you owe him (her) a steak dinner. That background is awesome!

Thanks. We took lots of pictures of the ram from lots of different angles and different directions. Lucky the sun was not above the mountains because my eyes are really sensitive and it is hard for me not to squint terribly. This picture highlights the rifle pretty well is why I just posted it in this thread. :)

justonemoreshot, hey, i'm looking to setup this exact gun. 150 bergers with rL17 or retumbo. Curious what your coal and jump measurements were? Thanks

I used Retumbo as it was very accurate and wicked fast. I loaded the rounds all the way out so that they just barely would fit down in the mag and not get stuck or have a problem in the field. I can't remember off the top of my head what the jump was or if it is just touching. I have been playing with a 6.5x284 and my dads .243 and few other things so I have a bunch of numbers in my head. I have it written in my notebook but all rifles are different. Good luck getting yours worked out. It's fun work!

Not to add more to your list but I have been reading a ton on this caliber now. Ended up buying a book from Nathan Foster. Pretty cool stuff. Anyways, he uses these bullets called .277 Matrix VLD, BC of .650 165 gr. Worth a look, thought I would pass on the info.
