I know I’m late to the party (also working toward the classified requirements)

I have had a few zamberlan boots-overall they are great boots unless you have an awkward gait. I paid to have one pair resoled and the boots became too heavy for hiking or hunting use and I gladly bought another pair to replace them. the full grain leather on my zamberlan boots generally lasted about a full two years (every single day use) between walking/hiking/hunting through brush and shale/scree and winter use in salt/gravel around town (Anchorage Alaska) I’m sure if I treated the leather much more often the all my boots would have survived until the soles wore off.

As far as boa laces- I don’t like the idea of a failure in the field- I have boa on a pair of snowshoes, but I seem to break a shoelace at least once every couple years, paracord or even spare laces in a pack can serve other uses and are a very light insurance item to carry
