Getting cold feet

Michigan here. I honestly use uninsulated Irish setter knee boots and throw those toe warmers in. Stay pretty dang good

I am thankful I don’t get sweaty or cold feet.
My fingers are my challenge. I can’t keep them warm without getting them against my body heat somehow. Never been crazy about
Electric or chemical warmers but as I age I might get interested.

Spray deodorant on your feet makes huge difference to help your feet not get cold

I came here to say this, I live by this. Dry feet are warm feet.

The other big thing is getting your feet off the metal platform. Hazmore used to sell and foam insulation kit for climbers and worked very well.

I would try those two things before going the boot cover route.

My dad always wore a silk liner sock under a wool sock. I tend to wear a single wool sock in my Muck's to leave an open cavity around my toes. If it is really cold, I'll add a hothands foot warmer, but always on TOP of my toes. A lot depends on how far I am walking to my stand, but whatever you do, avoid sweating.

I always wear a liner sock, even if I'm hunting in mild temperatures such as Spring Turkey.

It pulls moisture away from the foot and helps prevent blisters.

If you want a truly warm boot, a quality pac boot is hard to beat. I have some older lacrosse from back when they were made in the US. If I had to upgrade the schnee has caught my eye

I’m fortunate and don’t get cold feet. I’ll wear uninsulated kenetreks with a heavy smart wool sock down to 20f. However, my brother get cold feet and swears by electric socks.

Long story short, the most important thing is to keep your feet dry (fresh sucks) and ensure your feet are not crammed in the boots to ensure you’re giving the best chance at proper blood circulation that you can. If changing socks isn’t an option, a good liner with a wool sock over is hard to beat. Absolutely never cotton. I also avoid neoprene boots due to how bad my feet sweat. If your feet don’t sweat much this can be a good alternative. Think lacrosse alpha burly

If you’re feet get really cold, and you hunt super cold conditions static, a Baffin pac boot is very popular in the ice fishing world and notoriously warm

This is what I do also. Always a thin, non cotton liner and then some kind of wool. When it's really cold in the stand I bring out my booties that slip over my boots.
