In just about two weeks from now I will be camped in some tundra swamp looking for big ole swamp donkeys.
I am jacked, my first ever Moose hunt is just weeks away. Good luck to everyone lucky enough to try this year!!
Cheers,
TL

Good luck! We head out for Idaho for the moose opener there and then off to Alaska on 9/5 to do it again.

I've done it 4 times, may never do it again. But it will be one of the highlights of my hunting life. Just some random suggestions.
Hunt quiet, hunt slow
Call, don't tromp around everywhere
Don't shoot one in the water
Know what a good moose looks like, don't shoot a small one early
Go slow and be safe skinning, cutting and packing the meat
Don't shoot one in the water
Enjoy the whole experience, soak it all in
Don't shoot one in the water

God luck fellas!

Yeah, seems like shooting one in the water would really really suck....

DON'T SHOOT ONE IN THE WATER!.......or even close to the water as they'll run out into the lake/river.

Good advice Scott!

As Scott said......don't tramp all over the place....find a good vantage point and call.

For those of us not going, we should start a new thread called "Getting Jealous"

Really regretting turning down an opportunity for this September.
