I wonder what their numbers actually look like compared to the competition. For concealed carry they've definitely been losing market share for years with no signs of it slowing down. But I imagine for duty use in law enforcement contracts they still do extremely well. They are the Coca Cola of the gun industry and people want them to switch to New Coke. They will never start from a blank piece of paper while gun buyers are still buying their product over most competing products.

Any thought behind this, or are you just sore in the seat?
In 10mm, yeah, but that wait was ridiculous. I bought my 9mm gen 5 six years ago.Seems like the gen5 just came out.
They're making two new lines- Gen 6 and Glock V.I thought there was all this talk about Glock discontinuing everything and coming out with something brand new.
Edit: or is this the brand new gun and are they not making any previous gens anymore.

My very unserious attempt at humor. I’ve spent the last 18 years around every major firearms brand, personally run or been responsible for over 1000 gun toting professionals on a line with 100s of thousands of rounds. Been paid to shoot and had my pick at whatever I wanted to carry with unlimited access to ammo. There are some firearms that are better in small ways or more preferred based on personal preference, with that said, there is no firearm that is even close to the reliability, accuracy, support of a Gen 5 Glock 19 or 17 for serious use.Any thought behind this, or are you just sore in the seat?
Good point, I guess my time frame is skewed. I remember the gen 4 coming out in like 2010 and I just got my gen 5 10mm like 2? Years ago? Maybe 2.5 years ago and it was relatively new (which is why I bought it).In 10mm, yeah, but that wait was ridiculous. I bought my 9mm gen 5 six years ago.
I wish they would release the G20 the year following the 9mm models. Instead, it takes several years, and they have to do the 45 acp first.
I believe that was just for the Glock V.This redesign has more to to with litigation than innovation....I dont think they magically sold all the gen 5 on 11/30.
