Who has used this trigger?

I put one on my rifle this year. The more I practice with the two-stage the more I like it. After having a TT diamond lock up on me I am beginning to not trust any 700 triggers.

i think any trigger that is shot a lot and carried away from the range and can be adjusted to a decent let off is in danger of problems.

I'm a fan of two-stage triggers. I've got a handful of Geissele's in AR's. If the 700 variants are as good as the AR version I need to look into them for my bolt rifles.

When you say "lock up", did your experience have anything to do with cold temps?

Reason I ask is two weeks ago I was shooting steel at 15F temp and a TriggerTech froze/would not break until after I warmed up with the truck floor heat. What puzzles me is moisture was not a factor.

No, it was in the dead of summer. I thought it might be the action so I switched actions and it did the same thing two weeks later. It was like the trigger was froze, it wouldn't move. I worked the action then it started firing again.

The last trigger tech I installed wouldn’t function. It was new, never installed.

Thank you for the clarification. If the trigger mechanism freezes again I'll know better to replace it.

[Edit for future readers: In fairness to TriggerTech, anything I've stated about my "frozen" trigger experience is not at all conclusive. I have 4 TTs and curious, so on occasions when the temps are way low I'll just let the rifles sit outside and see if the issue repeats.]

Not a huge TT fan after having one lock on safe. TT did replace it with an upgrade but it’s not in my rifle anymore. Also there have been issues using them on custom actions and TT does have 2 different sear heights if you run into problems with sear engagement/not firing issues. I also don’t like that they seal the overtravel/sear engagement adjustments and it voids the warranty to adjust them. They are much better than Timney though!
I ran a Bix and Andy this year and was very impressed with it.

@Formidulosus , i have foggy memory of you saying something about the super 700s outperforming others in military testing. I'm interested in your feedback on this as well.

I've been having some issue with m700 triggers recently as well, likely self induced, but it makes a guy think about just using stuff built off of tikkas.. One thing I notice with my tikkas, it seems like the firing pin falls quite a bit harder than the various m700 platform rifles I have. In dry firing it feels like it's harder to keep the crosshairs from jumping with what seems like a harder pin fall. Anyone else notice something similar or am I losing it?

It’s funny you brought this up,
I got my 5th Super 700 today. So far they have been flawless and I am really loving the 2 stage. But the cool part is they can be both! Tikkas have a better trigger design and mine also seem to drop harder.

I have tried to get the super 700 to lock up by putting it in the freezer over night wet, zero issues. The Idaho freezing rain is what has caused most of my trigger issues in the past.

If I recall Form said it was the only 700 trigger to pass the military drop test.

The Geissele Super 700 is the only Remington trigger that passes the Crane drop test. It is by far the best 700 trigger from a reliability standpoint. Having said that, non of them are as good in ice/snow/sand/debris as a AI, Tikka, Blaser, Sako, etc trigger.

Nope. And they’ve been horrifically nasty.
