Anyone played with the Geissele GFR Recce or Stratomatch? Do they love up to the hype, seems like many are saying this is the go-to factory 6 arc.

Do you have a Stratomatch? If so, do you know the weight on it?My GFR runs fantastic, really pleased with it. The GFR is purpose built around the ARC case, as opposed to the more generic options out there such as the Noveske, who just slaps an ARC bolt face on their standard offering and relies on sleazy advertising to sell them..
Yikes, that’s a hot take. Not to mention inaccurate considering Noveske was directly involved with Hornady during the development of the 6arc and all their offerings are also “purpose built around the arc case”.My GFR runs fantastic, really pleased with it. Apologies for my lack of understanding here but what is different about the upper assembly that Noveske uses for the 6mm ARC outside of the bolt head?Yikes, that’s a hot take. Glad you like your Geissele. They’re also no doubt very high quality. But not including Noveske in the conversation would be a disservice to anybody looking for the best on the market. The proof there is in the testing they’ve passed and the contracts they have. Sorry their marketing style rubs you the wrong way.
The aspects that are different about the upper assembly are the bolt and the barrel. That’s in essence the difference between the uppers in every 6arc and their 556 equivalent. You made my case, Noveske’s 6mm ARC is just their standard build with an ARC bolt face. Geissele designed a whole new ARC specific upper assembly that isn’t even compatible with your standard 223/556. They redesigned the cam races and added steel inserts to better manage the higher pressures, they redesigned the feed ramp to suit that steeper pitched shoulder of the ARC case, they rebuilt the BCG from the ground up, etc.The aspects that are different about the upper assembly are the bolt and the barrel. Maybe Geissele has made some tweaks to their uppers they like but they are absolutely not necessary to have a very functional system. They are marketing it to make customers believe they’re getting something different/special.

Noveske took their standard AR, swapped out the bolt head, threw on a 6mm arc barrel and called it good. It’s a fine way to go and will be just fine for most people. But for the price, you’re getting a WHOLE lot more bang for your buck with the Geissele.
