Garmin watch

What, if anything, are you setting your garmin watch on during hunts? Would not mind tracking my distance etc on a hunt

I mostly use it for an altitude check; the screen is too small for any practical mapping.

I just got a 7 pro ballistics, my 1st smartwatch of any kind. Interested in getting it customized and how others are integrating it.

I'm a pilot, so there is that side.

Also fairly new to kestrel 5700 elite.

Have not been able to keep watch and kestrel linked more than 10 seconds. I have not tried pulling the kestrel battery method yet.

Did a short "Track me" yesterday while coyote hunting. Seems easy enough and when viewed on phone later, it had good imagery overlay and stats. As of now if I have my phone I'll likely use onx to record tracks as I use other onx functions too.

I do some bench/steel shooting, so I'm curious to see how watch and kestrel with live weather functions. Does the phone still function with either watch or kestrel or both while kestrel is linked to watch?

On the hunting side, this watch will likely get me off the fence to buy a range finding bino so I could do normal glassing, range a critter, send to watch for ranging solution seamlessly with out transitioning to separate rangefinder or my gunwerks g2/br4

I set the alarm for 30 mins before sunrise to vibrate...that way I don't have to keep checking the time for when I can shoot.

I set mine to 30 before sun up and at sunset. Wish you could set timer for after too

Yeah i agree with you. have a fenix 5s and using gps is nearly useless. only application is marking truck or base camp just in case
