Latest Joy: my InReach is not sending out messages.

You AT&T? It seems to be an AT&T issue and not Garmin. It’s been a huge issue since the weekend in AK. People have been posting on hunting pages for people to check on their loved ones not responding or sending messages. I can’t imagine an outfitter on AT&T depending on clients with inreach in the field and all the sudden it’s radio silence.

I do believe in an event like this, Garmin should send ALL devices a message notifying them of them issue. Lots of confused/pist/concerned people in the field right now.

Thanks for that! My girlfriend has AT&T so that is probably it.

Edit: this seems to be the problem. it sent a message to my verizon work phone right away. Anyone that would get worked up about me not checking in is on AT&T

Can you leave your work phone with her so she can get your messages and you aren't working?

Funny you say that! I’m supposed to be in the mountains all week but instead I’m sitting in a hotel room on the laptop working today and tomorrow.. Part of why I was a little more irritable about my messages not going through.

Tip: set up a lot of contacts for your preset messages. Mine go to an SMS number and an email for each person. The SMS has had some faults over the last few years but the email system has worked 100%.
